If you have never listened to Garth Brooks you are missing out on a great singer. His songs all have meaning and will touch your heart. He always sings from his heart on the slow songs and has a lot of fun singing the fast ones. Garth is a man who has his priorities in the right place and I think everyone can learn alot from him since he is such a classy guy.

This page is dedicated to Shell. Shell is my best friend on the net and the biggest Garth Brooks fan you will ever meet. If you ever want to put a smile on her face, all you have to do is mention his name.

I am including the lyrics to some of Garths best songs in my opinion. If there is a midi for that song just click on the song title to listen to that song while you read the words. If there is a song you would like to see added please feel free to email on my homepage and i will try to add it soon.

The Dance

Looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye

(CHORUS)
And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end, the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd of had to miss the dance

Holding you I held everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
And who's to say
You know I might have changed it all

(CHORUS)
Yes my life, it's better left to chance
I could have missed the pain but I'd of had to miss the dance

Friends In Low Places

Blame it all on my roots, I showed up in boots

And ruined your black tie affair
The last one to know, the last one to show
I was the last one you thought you'd see there
And I saw the surprise, and the fear in his eyes
When I took his glass of champagne
And I toasted you, said honey we may be through,
But you'll never hear me complain 'cause

(CHORUS)
I've got friends in low places
Where the whiskey drowns and the beer chases
My blues away
And I'll be okay
Yeah, I'm not big on social graces
Think I'll slip on down to the Oasis
Oh I've got friends in low places

Well I guess I was wrong, I just don't belong
But then I've been there before
Everything's alright, I'll just say good night
And I'll show myself to the door
Hey I didn't mean to cause a big scene
Just give me and hour and then
I'll be as high as that ivory tower you're living in

(CHORUS)

EXTRA VERSE
I guess I was wrong
I just don't belong
but then, I've been there before
And everything is alright
I'll just say goodnight
and I'll show myself to the door
I didn't mean to cause a big scene
just wait 'til I've finished this glass
Then sweet little baby
I'll head back to the bar
and you can kiss my ass!

(CHORUS)

The River

You know a dream is like a river

Ever changing as it flows
And a dreamer's just a vessel
That must follow where it goes
Trying to learn from what's behind you
And never knowing what's in store
Makes each day a constant battle
Just to stay between the shores...and

(CHORUS)
I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
Like a bird upon the wind
These waters are my sky
I'll never reach my destination
If I never try
So I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry

Too many times we stand aside
And let the waters slip away
'Til what we put off 'til tomorrow
Has now become today
So don't you sit upon the shoreline
And say you're satisfied
Choose to chance the rapids
And dare to dance the tide...yes

(CHORUS)

And there's bound to be rough waters
And I know I'll take some falls
But with the good Lord as my captain
I can make it through them all...yes

(CHORUS)

Yes, I will sail my vessel
'Til the river runs dry
'Til the river runs dry

If Tomorrow Never Comes

Sometimes late at night
I lie awake and watch her sleeping
She's lost in peaceful dreams
So I turn out the lights and lay there in the dark

And the thought crosses my mind
If I never wake up in the morning
Would she ever doubt the way I feel
About her in my heart

(CHORUS)
If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she's my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes

'Cause I've lost loved ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret
That my true feelings for them never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance
Where there's no second chance to tell her how I feel

(CHORUS)

So tell that someone that you love
Just what you're thinking of
If tomorrow never comes

The Change

One hand
Reaches out
And pulls a lost soul from harm
While a thousand more
Go unspoken for
They say what good have you done

By saving just this one
It's like whispering a prayer
In the fury of a storm

(CHORUS)
And I hear them saying you'll never change things
And no matter what you do it's still the same thing
But it's not the world that I am changing
I do this so this world will know
That it will not change me

This heart
Still believes
That love and mercy still exist
While all the hatreds rage and so many say
That love is all but pointless in madness such as this
It's like trying to stop a fire
With the moisture from a kiss

(CHORUS)

As long as one heart still holds on
Then hope is never really gone

(CHORUS)

What I do is so
This world will know
That it will not change me
